The Second Conference on Nabataean Studies: Society, Civilization, and State. (29-31 October 2002)
This conference aimed to continue efforts to periodically hold academic seminars and conferences about Nabataean civilization. It also contributed to producing a significant level of research and studies concerning the Nabataeans in both Arabic and English. Having research in both languages serves to widen the academic investigation of Nabataean civilization, thus contributing to the identification of Nabataean civilization and the preservation of its heritage. This conference also specifically highlighted society, civilization, and state as a framework in which Nabataean studies can be carried out. Moreover, it served to raise awareness of Nabataean heritage and advances that modern society has made that stem from the Nabataeans.
